First Visit

Your first visit to our office will be a chance for us to get acquainted and to answer your orthodontic questions. Our Treatment Coordinator, Diane, will give you a tour of our office, introduce you to the other team members who will help you progress through treatment, and highlight the benefits of our practice.

Dr. Albert or Dr. Thomas will conduct a thorough, free oral examination in which they will determine the specific course of treatment needed and will answer any and all questions that you may have. A treatment plan will be formulated and reviewed, and treatment time and costs will be presented.

The first orthodontic exam does not always result in a recommendation for immediate treatment. After your evaluation, Dr. Albert or Dr. Thomas may simply want to check your child periodically while the permanent teeth erupt and the jaws and face continue to grow. During this period, we will place your child in a growth and guidance program where they will be closely monitored.

These free of charge monitoring visits are very important because the doctors can evaluate factors such as growth of the jaws, loss of baby teeth, eruption of the adult teeth, and the effect of habits such as thumb-sucking, a tongue thrust, and mouth breathing. As a result, many potential problems can be kept to a minimum and the duration of orthodontic treatment may be greatly reduced.

We know that orthodontic treatment is an investment that will last a lifetime and that choosing the right orthodontist is an important decision. We are confident that the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere of our office, combined with our highly experienced and friendly doctors and staff, will make for a positive and memorable experience for everyone.
